As you know 2008 is an election year and SMYD intends to play a part in making it successful for our local, state and national candidates. And we need your help!
If you are interested in becoming more involved, the first step is to join one of our committees. We have four strong committees that are involved in truly interesting and fun work. The chairs have ambitious plans for this year and they are always in need of more committee members.
A brief description of each committee is listed below. Please contact the Committee Chair of your choice. Anyone in the club (affiliates included) can be on multiple committees.

Events Committee: plans our parties, socials and kick-off events

Marketing/Communications Committee: focuses on getting the word out about SMYD, our activities and our purpose; designs and produces promotional and marketing materials

Issues Committee: recruits and schedules presenters for issues oriented meetings, organizes candidate forums and/or debates, searches for other educational opportunities for our membership>> Chair: Kelsey Hitchingham (issues.srqyoungdems@gmail.com)

Membership Committee: recruits members, develops membership materials, communicates with membership, maintains member records
